Day 1: Arrival to Lima

After passing the immigration controls at Lima airport our English speaking guide will meet you. Your transfer from the airport to the hotel will take around 1 hour.

The capital of Peru Lima, is situated right on the Pacific coast. A metropolitan city of 11 million Peruvians is naturally perfect for sampling the famed national cuisine, with its vast base of ingredients and spices. Then, a relaxing tour of San Francisco convent, with its 21-altar Basilica and museum featuring works by Rubens, Zurbaran and Rivera. A circuit of the many downtown plazas (squares) includes a seaside cycle path, botanical garden and Parque del Amor, ending with Lima’s best bars and nightspots. Meanwhile, the ancient tradition is very much alive at Huaca Pucllana temple, just steps away from the hotels and hostels of central

Miraflores district. The impressive Pyramids of Pachacamac are just a 40km drive south.

Day 2: Vivencial Program in Lima with overnight in local house

You will be picked up from your hotel and spend two days in a shanty town on the surroundings of Lima City

On arrival to the area you will have a Shanty Town Tour during the morning, and then be escorted to your homestay family. Your English speaking guide will introduce you to your homestay family, and make sure you are settled before they leave you in the safe hands of your new Peruvian family.

During any free-time you have, you can play football with the local children, visit the local church or kindergarten, or simply spend time getting to know your host family and the locals.

On return to your homestay, you will have a lesson in cooking a traditional Peruvian meal, and have plenty of opportunities to practice your Spanish with your family over dinner.

Note:Pack a small suitcase with all the necessary items for 1 night stay. The big luggage can be left at the storage of your hotel. You will be given a small local map, some basic Spanish phrases and told about security and other basic guidelines to help you stay be enjoyable.

Day 3: Vivencial Program in Lima

This day, your “mother” will teach you how to bargain in a Peruvian local market, pay attention to everything she says, sometimes, peruvian mothers send their older sons to buy anything alone!

You have the opportunity to go with your ¨Host-Mother¨ to the local market to purchase local fruits and vegetables for the family meals.

You have an afternoon visit to a local ceramic workshop using a fun local ‘Moto’ as transport. During your visit to the factory you have the option of making your own souvenir of your stay.

Your homestay experience comes to an end at approx. noon.

Day 4: Flight to Cusco & Free afternoon

This day you will flight from Lima to Cusco and have the opportunity of explore this beautiful city on your own in the afternoon.

Private transfer from airport in Cusco to your hotel with guide. Please be aware of the sign with your name on it.

You will make this domestic flight on your own.

Cusco (or Cuzco) was the historic capital of the Inca Empire, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its elevation of over 11,000 feet allows visitors to acclimatize before setting off on long treks towards Machu Picchu’s legendary mountain ruins. Cusco is a very pleasant city to explore, with wonderful ancient stonework, narrow streets and important Inca temple remains, complemented by Spanish colonial buildings. Numerous museums showcase Inca and pre-Colombian culture, as well as textiles and sacred plants. Being a rich agricultural region, many fusion and neo-Andean restaurants offer unique Peruvian gastronomy. Meanwhile, day trips to nearby lagoons can be connected with visits to Inca ruins such as Pisac, Tambomachay, Kenqo, Sacsayhaman and Ollantaytambo.

Due to this hotel location, the passenger can walk to the principal atractions of Cusco. During his walk he can discover restaurants, coffee shops, popular art shopping centers and the famous market San Pedro.

This market is located between the Church of the same name and the San Francisco Square. Near the hotel you can also find the Recocijo Square and the Church and Museum of the Merced. Day 5: Chichubamba Vivencial Program

Your next stop on learning about Peruvian day by day lifestyle is in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, this experience will be very different since this people live outside the main city of Cusco.  This will be an unforgettable experience!

First visit is to Awanacancha, a weaving center were you can appreciate some South American Camelids like llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicuñas. Then visit to Pisac Inca Ruins then we will spend time at the Pisac Indian Market.

Follow your visit to “La May”, here we will make a stop to see how the local people prepare a traditional dish “The guinea pig” (Optional lunch stop in La May.) Then continue to an important huaca in Urco, here you can see a special temple dedicated to the water and mother earth.

Later we’ll continue to Chichubamba, where we’ll spend the night in a local guesthouse and get to experience the hospitality of the natives of the Sacred Valley.

Visit the Inkariy museum where you can appreciate that Peru is the cradle of several cultures from Caral It is attributed an antiquity of 5000 years and is considered the oldest city of America, to the Inca Culture. Day 6: Chichubamba Vivencial Program

Today your will have a short cooking class, you will learn how to prepare chocolate with a 100% of natural chocolate and them it´s time to drink a special beverage of the Andes called “Chicha” (alcoholic beverage based on ferment corn), an alcoholic beverage that this people prepare ancients times.

After breakfast, we will do some real sustainable tourism by participating in different local workshops. You will get to learn more about the ceramic.

You will also have the chance to see how they prepare chocolate at home. It’s a lot of fun and a real opportunity to learn more about the ancient and still living cultures.

On the way to Ollantaytambo we are going to make an stop at “El Descanso” to visit a singular family that prepare an very important drink for the local people in the sacred valley “Chicha” Is an alcoholic beverage that is extracted from the fermentation of corn and also is used in a ceremonial offerings to the Pachamama. Visit to the ancient ruins in Ollantaytambo and some of the greatest masterpieces of the Incas.

Day 7: Sacred Valley Tour & overnight in Sacred Valley

What do you know about the Andes religious? This day you will learn how they fell the respect to the Pachamama (Pacha = Earth / Mama = Mother). For this ancient people, the earth offer everything that they need for their live, the show their respect to the Pachamama offering coca leaves and typical Andean food and others gifts.

Pick up from your hotel and drive towards to Moray, this community is famous for its embedded amphitheatre, formed by four circular terraces which seem to disappear into the interior of the Puna, like an artificial crater. Evidence seems to suggest that Moray was an important centre of Inca agricultural research on crops.

Continue the visit of Maras. Its main attraction, apart from its church, that dates from the colonial period, are the salt mines located near the town which captivate sightseers and in particular, photographers. You will continue your tour by visiting Ollantaytambo. This pre-historic fort majestically dominates the valley. It is up of temples and pats united by a complete system of water and sewer irrigation canals.

Finally, visit to Chinchero, which is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. Its major claim to tourism is its colorful Sunday market. Visiting the main plaza, we will find an adobe colonial church, dating from the early seventeenth century. At the end of the day you will turn back to Cusco.

During our Sacred Valley Tour, we will be transferred to the Sun temple to be part of the Payment to the earth ceremony.

The ritual is a way to show gratitude for Mother Nature’s abundant gifts and harmonize with the energy that connects all things. The ceremony invites the Apus (sacred mountain deities) to help cleanse, balance and guide us. It blows three coca leaves, or kintus , and making small offerings of Andean food, sweets, herbs, confetti and wool.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas was undoubtedly a key area of settlement to the Incas. Its agreeable climate and fertile plains make a rare and fruitful combination for the high Andes. It was also the route to the jungle and therefore an area with access to the fruits and plants of the tropical lowlands. Today the Sacred Valley remains a lush agricultural region supplying the city of Cusco with much of its produce such as maize, fruit and vegetables. The visit is including Pisac Indian Market which attracts thousands of visitors and people from remote communities, dressed in colorful, traditional attire.

Day 8: Machu Picchu Tour

This day will visit an impressive construction, Machu Picchu, one of the seven modern wonders of the world. You will be overwhelmed when you see all the buildings in the top of this mountain.

On your arrival in Aguas Calientes (your guide will meet you here), walk to the bus station to take your bus up to Machu Picchu. Shared transfer from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes.

Machu Picchu was only re-discovered in 1911 by the explorer Hiram Bingham, this citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscapes architecture in the world. Located in an enclave on the saddle of a mountain overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba River, in an area of lush tropical forest, it served as a place of worship, a site for star-gazing and a private hacienda of the family of the Inca Pachacutec. It consists of two main areas one agricultural, formed mainly by mountains and food stores, and the other urban, which is noted for its sacred zone with its temples, squares and royal tombs. The stairways and canals carved out of stone are recurrent throughout this remarkable archaeological site.

Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Day 9: HUAYNA PICCHU TOUR

Do you think that Machu Picchu is spectacular? The Incas also build temples on a highest mountain next to Machu Picchu, this mountain is called “Hayna Picchu” or Young mountain. After this second visit you will be transported to your hotel in Cusco.

This day, you will go to Huayna Picchu with your guide.

Walk to the bus station to take your bus down to Aguas Calientes. Shared transfer from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes.

VOYAGER TRAIN (MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO)

Wayna Picchu or Huayna Picchu “young peak”) is a mountain in Peru around which the Urubamba Riverbend’s. It is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machu Picchu District. It rises over Machu Picchu and divides it into sections. The Incas built a trail up the side of the Huayna Picchu and built temples and terraces on its top. The peak of Huayna Picchu is about 2,720 metres (8,920 ft) above sea level, or about 360 metres (1,180 ft) higher than Machu Picchu.

Day 10: Full day excursion to Rainbow Mountain

Cusco does not offered only culture, the nature give you a gift, a mountain with several colors called “Rainbow Mountain” after a nice trek, you will arrive to this “whim” of the nature.

We start the day with the pickup of the passengers at 5:30 AM. Our first stop will be the town center of Checacupe, birthplace of the artists and lyrics of the song of the condor pass, where we will begin our visit. Visit of the different Inca, colonial and contemporary style bridges, after which we will visit the temple of Checacupe, where we can find a fascinating work of art, fresh canvases of the Cusqueña School and a unique pulpit in its class.

Continuing with our route we will go to the valley of Saclla where, we will descend so we can begin our trek to the valley with a duration of 2 hours We will begin with the visit of the whole valley of the mountains of 7 colors after which we will visit the forest of stones. After the tour, we will have lunch at the Sacla Valley.

Then we depart back to Cusco, ending the tour arriving at Cusco 7 pm.

Day 11: Bus to Puno

This day you will take a tourist bus from Cusco to Puno, during the trip you will visit four important areas like Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Marangani, La Raya, Pukara and finally arrives to Puno. This is a very nice trip!

TOURIST BUS CUSCO – PUNO

During our tour has a duration of 10 hours, we have excursions and guided tours to the most important attractions of the route “Ruta del Sol“. We will visit Andahuaylillas and the Temple of San Pedro Apostol Andahuayillas known as the Sistine Chapel of America, being a work of the Jesuits dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The church walls are covered with frescoes and amount of roof has a decoration of flowers with gold flakes also many pictures vergn decorated in gold leaf, highlights them within the box of the Virgen de Asuncion. Continue to Raqchi, Inca archaeological park is located in the district of San Pedro, Province Canchis. The structure of the most important archaeological site is the Temple Raqchi Wiracocha (the supreme god of the Incas) because of its iconic buildings, a huge two-story rectangular structure that measures 92 meters long by 25.5 meters wide and about 9.80 tall. Its central wall Factory finely carved stone. The base has a height of about 3 meters. Adobe (earth bricks with sun-dried straw), the walls are 1.65mts. thick at the base and 1.30 meters. Approximately at the top. We will end the route with a stop at The Raya and Pukara museum. Arrival to Puno.

Puno is called the capital of Peruvian Folklore and the home of the Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world. The gigantic Titicaca lake is half Peruvian territory, and half Bolivian. At an altitude of between 4,000 and 6,000m above sea level, it is often chilly, but usually sunny. As a commercially navigable lake, its sheer size has attracted native peoples for millennia — long before the Incas. On the Peruvian side, the traditional Llachon people live around a scenic peninsula beside the shallow Bay of Puno. On the islands of Amantani and Taquile, close in proximity, there are textile-producing communities living among Inca and pre-Inca ruins. Near the north shore, Suasi Island offers a luxury eco-lodge with stunning lake views. The star attractions, however, are the Uros people, who inhabit dozens of floating islands constructed entirely from reeds.

Day 12: Uros, Taquile & Amantani Vivevncial Program

This is the last experience on the day by day peruvian lifestyle. In Titicaca Lake you will meet an ancient town called “Uros” and civilization older than the Incas. These people build artificial islands made of “Totora” or which is an aquatic perennial herbaceous plant (reeds). The Uros first build boats and them their artificial islands in order to scape of the war against the Incas. Here you will have the experience of living like this people as if the time never pass.

Located 35 minutes by boat from the port of Puno, comprises a group of islands where the main material is made of reeds which is also used to make houses and boats, inhabited by “Uros” people who are very friendly and cordial with visitors.

Tour begins with the gathering of tourists from their hotel and transported to the local city port where you will be shipped by boat bound for the islands, on arrival we visit three islands of the whole, knowing their people who explain their daily life and customs more deeply rooted. Amantani, located 36 km from the port of Puno (three hours by boat), the island is composed of eight communities engaged in agriculture, corn, quinoa as well as crafts that are representative for their color. The island has two natural viewpoints with a unique view of the majestic Lake Titicaca.

Day 13: Uros, Taquile & Amantani Vivevncial Program - day 2

This is the end of the program, you will visit another important island located in Titicaca Lake where you will have a farewell lunch, hope you enjoy it!

Taquile, is located four hours from the port of Puno by boat, and is one of the favorite destinations for visitors, especially for the beautiful scenery of the island, you need to reach the central square of the island for the walk uphill for about an hour, completed the walk you can enjoy a delicious lunch, then it will continue the walk up the stairs of Taquile which has 535 stone steps. Afterwards return to Uros and then to your hotel.
